I was born and raised in the coastal town of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. The white sandy beaches stretched for miles with intermittent sections of rugged rocky outcrops, where the sound of the pounding surf was both exhilarating and yet soothing. I have fond childhood memories of fun-filled summer vacations at the beach and of idyllic days of sun, sand, and sweet watermelon.
After a 12 year career with a national security company as Area Sales Manager, I became a stay-at-home mom when our daughter Jamie-Lee was born. A few years later we immigrated to the United States and settled in picturesque Holland, Michigan where I had been a Rotary exchange student in 1977. We loved being close to our adopted Rotary family but had a hard time adjusting to the long winters and we longed to be closer to the beach. Three years later, after a summer vacation in Myrtle Beach, we moved to Garden City and felt like we had come home!
My husband, Mervin is a sailor and keen fisherman, Jamie-Lee loves to surf and swim and I love to walk on the beach for exercise. We all love lazy Sundays on the beach, visiting with friends and playing Bocce Ball or Horseshoes.
I have a passion for helping others make important buying and/or selling decisions. I am committed to providing outstanding service through hard work and diligence. Donald Becker is a 1970 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of arts in pre-law and then served in the US Army National Guard. He was an Eagle Scout, earning the Silver Beaver Award (highest attainable by a civilian), and a Scoutmaster for eight years. He was also a Parkersburg Jaycee for 18 years. Donald has been self-employed since 1971 starting as an insurance broker before becoming a stockbroker. Once he started his real estate career, he realized that he was in his element.
Donald started his real estate career in Martinsburg, West Virginia where he was an agent with a very affluent firm. He bought an oceanfront condominium in Garden City in 1987 where her currently resides. He spends equal amounts of energy on commercial as well as residential properties. He favors waterfront residential, duplexes, and condominiums. From a commercial view, he focuses on land, retail, and income producing properties.

A native South Carolinian, I've been a Real Estate Broker/Contractor serving the South Strand (Surfside Beach - Pawleys Island) area for the past 27 years. Since spending my high school summers working at the Pawleys Island Pavilion with my brother I have dreamed of being able to build a life in the Low Country of South Carolina.
My wife, Karen, and I have been fortunate to raise two children - Edward who attends the University of South Carolina, and Clark who leads an active life as a cheerleader at Waccamaw High School - in what we consider to be the most desirable spot on the Carolina Coast. Family has always been a priority with us, and we devote many hours to church, school and community activities.
I was born and raised in Taylors, a small town in the foothillss of South Carolina. I graduated from Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, South Carolina, and attended college in Texas. Although I worked for many years traveling around the United States my southern roots pulled me back and I began my Real Estate career in 1996 with Century 21 in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
We moved to the Ricefields Community in Pawleys Island in 1999 and I began my affiliation with James W. Smith Real Estate. From the year 2000 to date I have been the Sales Agent of the Year and Listing Agent of the Year every year, and maintained a sales volume of up to 12-13 million dollars per year.

My name is Brian Burbage. I am the product of Georgetown County School District and a graduate of Georgetown High School. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Newberry College in 2000 in Sports Management and Marketing. I was fortunate to play college football for Newberry on an athletic scholarship. I was also a member of Kappa Alpha Order. After graduation, I joined the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx, a Double A minor league baseball affiliate of the Chicago Cubs in Jackson, Tennessee, where I served as Director of Stadium Operations, Director of Season Tickets and Box Office Manager for three years. While in Tennessee I also helped produce a South Eastern Conference Sports Talk Show, which hosted sports analyst, Spencer Tillman and Terry Bowden. I returned to Pawleys Island in the fall of 2003, when at that time, I joined the James W. Smith Realty Team. I'm also a member of Pawleys Island Rotary Club and Waccamaw High School Booster Club. I am single and have two Labs named Gauge and Harley. I reside in Litchfield Country Club.

The Low Country has always owned a special place in my heart. As a kid growing up I spent all my summers and Holidays here at the Beach. After graduating High school from Camden Military Academy I spent one summer as a famous Myrtle Beach Life Guard and worked in Myrtle Beach, Ocean lakes and Huntington Beach. Later that summer I entered the infamous Citadel as a Knob and for the next four years I questioned what I had done.
After Graduating from The Citadel as a Human Affairs Officer I joined Pliant Corporation as a Petrochemical Broker with their Industrial Films Division. For the next three years I was their Territory Manager in Georgia and also helped with kick starting different markets around the country. I have worked extensively with companies like Kraft, Purina, Georgia Pacific, PepsiCo, Nestle and others to help streamline operations and to reduce bottom-line manufacturing costs by focusing on alternative packaging solutions.
Living in Atlanta was a great experience especially in Buckhead. I did however realize that my dreams were to be in Real Estate and end up back near the coast. After making my decision I moved to Garden City and enjoy waking up and looking over the Canal every morning. Paradise! I had finally moved back to where all my best memories had taken place!
